In just over a month I will have two teenaged children. Oh my!! Surely I am not old enough for that?!
This impending milestone has me reflecting on the parenting journey L has taken me on. And wondering about what is in store for him in the future.
In an online support group today the question was asked "What are the top 5 personality strengths needed to juggle all the roles you led as parent/ carer/ advocate/ partner....?". Of course the responses poured in!
I read an article today, called 6 Things You Don't Know About A Special Needs Parent. It was a great article. It started me thinking about what things I would like to explain to others about myself to help them understand me and maybe give an insight into why I sometimes react differently than expected. As I thought about it I realised some of my list is the same, and some is different. Here's my list of things that I wish it was easy to explain about myself as a parent of ASD kids.
Hubby and I have been talking about G today. We don't often get a lot of time to really talk things through, so when we do we tend to go to the important stuff first.
